Software Update Mac Won't Start

Hi my name is art, currently at this moment in time i am undergoing a frustrating issue with my imac. i recently updated my latest software updates, 6 of them, you know the one where it scams for latest software updates then updates them.. I just installed snow leopard on my mac and that was successful. i went to do a software update afterwards (hoping to move up to 10.6.8) and it went through, but when the computer had to restart, it would just shut down, and reboot to the purple-ey space-ey background image....and just stay there... In order to avoid unexpected data loss trouble due to macos sierra update, or if you have lost some data after fixing macos sierra won't boot after the update, you can try to restore backups from time machine..

My mac won't start up. i ran a software update and it said you need to restart to complete the install. so i did that and it restarted and went to the install screen. then just wouldn't install, the blue bar got halfway through and then wouldn't go any further. i waited 25 minutes and still nothing. When software update says that your mac is up to date, macos and all of its apps are also up to date. that includes safari, i tunes, books, messages, mail, calendar, photos, and facetime. start a discussion. in apple support communities. ask other users about this article..
